One night person at the front desk was amazing and helpful, the rest not terribly so. Perhaps they were overwhelmed.
Attended Chiller Theatre Expo here. The lobby and shops were modern. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I think the decor was rather dark in most of the rooms, which is perfect for this event, maybe not for many others. I did not stay at the hotel, so can't comment upon or review the rooms.
It seems like some of the staff really try to do a good job and others I'm not so sure.
After dinner at the attached Ruth's Chris Steak House, we popped in for a few drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, as with most Hotel Bars, the drinks were a bit overpriced. However, the ambience is quite nice. Plenty of seating both around a fireplace ( real ) along with individual tables set away from the bar for enhanced privacy. Remarkably, with a full complement of patrons, it wasn't too loud. Perhaps this is the function of the tall ceilings, or the carpeting. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable time and would definitely return.
Ruth Chris Steakhouse was good.
Beautiful room. Lobby area was spacious with nice decor. Staff were were nice, but really didn't interact with them much. Would stay again.
First room we were in the phone did not work. Second room the bath tub did not drain but it was over all a better room. We were kind of stuck ordering breakfasts there due to the convention and lack of time and I'm sure they tried but the breakfasts were seriously lacking.
My only real experience with this hotel has been at a guest during the biannual “Chiller” conventions.
Nice big modern lobby and the lobby bar had good beef sliders.
The long and short of it is I know what good service in all areas of the hotel is supposed to look like and feel like. I know because I have worked in hospitality and tourism for several years. Overall this hotel missed the mark.
The indoor pool was disgusting, cold, dirty and the hot tub didn't work. Perhaps they were waiting til the big group left before they fixed it.
So, I’m not sure how much of this reflects on the hotel, and how much on the event management. But, let’s put it this way: whatever the number of people who SHOULD be allowed to attend, they allow in about 1.5 times that many. It’s claustrophobic, and one fire alarm away from disaster.
Otherwise, the facility seems neat and tidy, well maintained and easily accessible.
Housekeeping was unfriendly and gave more dirty looks then friendly service.
